How to make it?

We need 250 g of pork lard and two full handfuls of lilac flowers (we can also add lavender or other medicinal herbs). Melt the lard over the flame, add the lilac and bring everything to a boil. Then remove from heat, cover the container and leave it in a cool place for 24 hours. The next day heat the mixture and press it through a cloth.

Besides pork lard, the salve can also be prepared from cosmetic petroleum jelly. Alternatively try an excellent medicinal oil, which is also prepared completely cold.

The lilac flower is best used when it is already ¾ in bloom; these flowers should be collected and dried in a well-ventilated place. Before use, the dried flowers should be crumbled.

Tea

We can prepare it from dried flowers but also from leaves. Place two teaspoons of the dry mixture into a cup and pour 250 ml of boiling water over it. Let steep for 30 minutes, strain and serve with honey.

Tincture

You can use dried leaves or bark. Pour 100 ml of pure alcohol into a jar and 200 g of the dried mixture. Let it mature for 10 days, shaking 3-4   times a day. After ten days strain the tincture and store it in the refrigerator for another 6 days. This way it will last up to 2 years; always shake before use.

Joint pain

An excellent compress for sore joints can be made from lilac.   As soon as it begins to bloom, we can prepare a tincture that will reduce joint pain. Fill a half-liter bottle with dried flowers, pour vodka over them and leave in a dark place at room temperature for three weeks. Use this tincture for compresses by diluting it 50:50 with water. Soak a compress in this liquid, wrap the sore area and cover with film.
