I want to share my tried-and-tested feed for home-grown strawberries, which I apply always at the turn of April and May. To each bush half a liter of this vitamin bomb and nothing else needs to be given to the strawberries. Moreover, it is completely organic, so no chemicals and expensive garden-care products.

we need:

  • 50 g fresh yeast
  • 1 liter warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

procedure:

  1. Stir and let sit for 1 day. Then dilute in a ratio of 1:5 (1 part feed, 5 parts water) and water each bush with half a liter of the mixture.
  2. If you don’t have fresh yeast, the mixture can be prepared from 1 teaspoon of dried yeast. This amount of fertilizer is enough for 10 plants. The roots of the plants are nourished for the whole season after this tonic.

Fertilizer from old bread

Thanks to the yeasts you’ll give the strawberries a huge boost and create an ideal environment for cultivation that promotes the formation of large fruits. Yeasts acidify the soil, attract beneficial organisms and ensure a larger yield. Its preparation is very simple. Pour water over old dried bread and weigh it down so it doesn’t float. Let it ferment for about 6-10 days. Dilute the resulting solution with water in a ratio of 1:10 .

Nettle for protection and nutrition

A true elixir and at the same time a great way to protect strawberries from pests. Moreover, everything you need to make this fertilizer can be found around you. The fertilizer contains readily absorbable nitrogen and potassium, which the plants need for their growth. It’s enough to fill 1 bucket with nettles and pour water over them. Stir twice a day and use diluted with water in a ratio of 1:20.

soured milk

Products from soured milk – such as buttermilk are beneficial for fruit development. Fermented dairy products are recommended to be mixed with humus, manure and wood ash – this mixture helps create a mildly acidic environment ideal for the growth and development of fruits. If you pour a solution of milk and water into a spray bottle and spray it on the strawberries, you can forget about aphids and mites.

chicken manure

Chicken manure is good because it contains a quantity of nitrogen, without which strawberries are unable to produce large and juicy fruits. Ideally use chicken manure in liquid form and dilute with water in a ratio of 1:10 – so that the strawberries do not get burned. The solution must stand for at least three days and is used only until the strawberries begin to bloom.
