Many people think they will lose weight only if they starve and grind in the gym from morning till night. Few, however, realize that the secret to health and a slim figure is hidden mainly in water. If you do not drink enough and at the right times, weight loss will not be healthy and the result will never be lasting.
Why hydration is important
Most people drink only half or even a third of the daily amount of water. We replace water with sugary drinks, alcohol, coffee, and in doing so we cause great harm to our bodies. Lack of water (and we mean plain unsweetened water) leads to disruption of basic chemical processes in the body. One of the consequences is excessive fat storage in tissues.
Lack of fluids is also associated with feelings of fatigue, headaches, insomnia and apathy. If you accept pain and discomfort as part of your morning routine, it’s time to think about it.
How much water is enough
More water does not mean better results. Excessive water consumption is not healthy at all and burdens our kidneys and heart. The basis is a healthy intake of water at the right time. Dietitians agree that this balance is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle and also healthy weight loss.
The volume of water consumed can vary depending on your diet, where you live, and also the nature of the activities you perform each day. If you stick to an amount in the range of 1.5-2 liters of water per day and drink it at the right time, you are on the best path to lose weight and be healthy. You should observe results within 1 week. With this method you will not lose 7 kilos in a week, but the weight loss will be permanent, without the yo-yo effect. And most importantly, you will be doing the best for your health!
