The spice that everyone has at home and that we can’t imagine Christmas sauerkraut soup without. We’re talking about the ordinary bay leaf. A food ingredient that has enormous effects on health and from which you can make effective homemade remedies. They will help you with many ailments.

Bay leaf tea

Ingredience: 15 ks bobkových listů a 3 dcl vody

Place the bay leaves into a pot, pour water over them and boil for 12 minutes. Then let it steep for another three hours. After that, strain and remove the bay leaves. Drink the tea slowly and gradually throughout the day. Do not drink the tea all at once! Sip it in small doses once an hour, but no more. A larger amount will suddenly and significantly thin the blood.

A decoction of bay leaves is not suitable for pregnant women and for long-term use. It is intended only for short-term cleansing.

Medicinal oil and compress

Bay leaf is a great helper for relieving pain. Prepare a medicinal oil from it.

Composition

  • 50 grams of bay leaves
  • 2 dl of 70% alcohol 
  • 0.5 l of olive / rapeseed oil

Let the leaves steep with the alcohol in a suitable container for 24 hours and then add the olive oil. Cook this mixture in a water bath for at least 5 hours, but be careful not to boil it. Finally, strain the mixture. Rub the painful areas with the oil.

Bay leaf inhalation

If you need to loosen phlegm, it is best to prepare a bay leaf inhalation. Pour 0.5 liters of boiling water over four tablespoons of bay leaves and let it steep for 10 minutes. Then place a towel over your head and inhale the healing vapors for five minutes. Inhale once or twice a day for 3 days.

Ear inhalation

Treat yourself to a bay inhalation for ear inflammation, hearing loss and tinnitus. Pour 0.5 liters of boiling water over four tablespoons of bay leaves and let it steep for 10 minutes. Direct the bay steam into the ear using a cone made of stiff paper. Keep it in place for about 15 minutes twice daily for 3 days for hearing loss, and once daily for 30 days for tinnitus.
