Carrots do not have special requirements for placement, but they need soil that, for optimal root development, is lighter, well-drained, warm and free of stones. Preferably loamy-sandy, sandy-loamy, loamy-clay with a content of humus. We sow it in the same place at intervals of 4–6 years, just like other vegetables. Carrots do not tolerate fertilization that causes cracking and branching. Carrots also need enough calcium in the soil for a good yield.
Old remedy against diseases and to eradicate pests
You should know the old wonder called potassium permanganate or hypermanganate. A shiny crystalline salt J-toe, black-violet. The fact is that potassium permanganate is a long-known substance that at some point was somehow forgotten. Our grandmothers still used it, but with the arrival of chemicals in stores it was somehow forgotten. And yet it is often better than all those remedies combined.
A whip against carrot diseases
If you want to ensure that the carrot crop is clean, without rot, mold and diseases, try this old disease treatment. After the second thinning the young plants are watered with a solution of potassium permanganate (3 g) diluted in a 10-liter container. One bucket is sufficient for 3-4 m2. Repeat the watering after three weeks. The carrots will be clean, free of infections, diseases and molds. Just before watering with this solution the carrots should be irrigated with plain water.

The carrot fly is capable of eradicating an entire carrot crop in a short time. Like all its relatives it is attracted to the scent of carrots. Therefore, to prevent it by the “scent”, spray the bed with a solution of red or black pepper. Take 1 tablespoon of the spice and dilute in 10 liters of water. Water the carrot bed. This solution is enough for 10 m2.
