It is said that just a fleeting glance at the vast Provençal fields bathed in purple lavender immediately soothes the soul. Lavender was considered for centuries a precious little plant that brought good energy and healing power into homes.

Lavender oil has powerful anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, and detoxifying effects.

Lavender insect repellent was already known to our grandmothers. They steeped dried lavender flowers in ordinary Alpa (rubbing alcohol) and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply to pulsating and exposed areas (especially behind the ears and on the wrists; also spray on clothes).

You will need:

  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 12 cups cold water
  • 1-2 drops of lavender oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • ice
  • sprigs of lavender for garnish

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients in a pitcher and serve with a lemon wheel.

Lavender tea for migraine

Simply pour a cup of boiling water over dried lavender (1-2 teaspoons) and let it steep for a few minutes. The tea is great even during illness.
