Every, even small change toward a healthier lifestyle is good and there is almost always a healthier version of every dish. Eggs are eaten regularly in many households and can be prepared in many ways. We enjoy scrambled eggs, fried eggs, soft-boiled or hard-boiled eggs.

But have you tried steamed eggs yet?

You will be surprised how tasty they are and how impressive they look on cold cuts platters.

The advantage is that you can prepare a larger amount at once and without a drop of oil. They are extremely tasty and look beautiful.

We need:

  • fresh eggs
  • porcelain bowls
  • a larger pot
  • a steaming basket

Procedure:

  • Crack one egg into each bowl. Place the bowls in the steaming basket and set it over a pot of boiling water.
  • Cover with a lid and let steam for 6 minutes.
  • After 6 minutes take the eggs off the stove and pour out the water from the bowls.
  • Then carefully separate the eggs from the bowls with a silicone spatula and you can serve them, or use them for preparing salads or sandwiches.

We need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of butter – melted
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of sour cream

Procedure:

  • Whisk the mixture as usual – beat the eggs with a fork, add the cooled melted butter, the cream, season and mix.
  • Now prepare an ordinary sieve.
  • Place the sieve over the heated pan (if you have a non-stick surface, there’s no need to grease it, otherwise rub a little oil).
  • Then quickly pour the mixture through the sieve while gently moving it to distribute the mixture evenly over the pan.
  • The mixture will be fluffy and will rise – lightly smooth it with the sieve to level it a bit.
  • Then it only takes about a minute and it’s done.

How to prepare a perfectly runny yolk

Break an egg into the pan and pour water into it instead of oil. Then cook as usual. This way you get a perfect fried egg with a perfectly runny yolk.
