Cucumbers are one of the most grown crops and are found in the gardens of many gardeners. The biggest problem with their cultivation, however, is that cucumbers are attacked by fungal diseases and pests during active growth. Because cucumbers grow quickly, chemical spraying must not be carried out. For this reason, it is recommended to work with harmless organic solutions.
2 Secret ingredients and ordinary water
- 500 ml whey
- 2 TBSP 10% ammonia
- 4 – 5 l of water at room temperature
How to do it?
1. Mix the whey with the ammonia.
2. Pour the mixture into the water.
3. Treat the plants with the solution by spraying both sides of the leaves, at least once a week , early in the morning or late at night so the solution remains on the leaf surface as long as possible.
Whey contains large amounts of beneficial substances for plants (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and microelements). After spraying, a thin film forms on the surface of the leaves, which perfectly protects them from fungal spores. Small pests also avoid it because they don’t like this film.
Ammonia is an amazing fertilizer containing nitrogen, but it also serves as an excellent insect deterrent. In this mixture, ammonia has the function of neutralizing the acidic whey, because an acidic environment is not the most comfortable for plants. With regular application the leaves and flowers enlarge. This solution will ensure you a healthy and abundant harvest.
