Miracle fertilizer from hard bread
If you want a really good cucumber harvest, you must give them the right nutrition. And an old well-known activity – fermentation – can help you with that.
Fill a bucket two-thirds full with bread crusts and fill with water. Weigh down the soaked crusts with something, otherwise they will float when the bread starts to float. Place the bucket in a warm place for one week. The resulting consistency is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:3 and is used as a fertilizer with which we pour freshly planted cucumbers – it comes out to about half a liter per seedling. Then water from the beginning of flowering until the fruits are large.
Proven fertilizer for cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant and other vegetables
I wouldn’t part with this old tried-and-true recipe – pour water on the crust and let it ferment. Although it smells good, it is a nutritional bomb for cucumbers. After dilution the fertilizer is also excellent for tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkins and other crops – dilute 1:10. “
Nutrition and protection against pests and diseases in 1 step
The biggest problem with growing cucumbers is that cucumbers are attacked by fungal diseases and pests. Because cucumbers grow quickly, chemical spraying must not be carried out. For this reason, it is recommended to work with harmless organic solutions. This is one of them.
What will we need?
- 500 ml of whey
- 2 tbsp of 10% ammonia
- 4 – 5 l of water at room temperature
How to do it?
1. Mix the whey with the ammonia.
2. Pour the mixture into the water.
3. Treat the plants with the solution by spraying both sides of the leaves, at least once a week , early in the morning or late at night, so that the solution remains on the surface of the leaves as long as possible.
Whey contains a large amount of beneficial substances for plants (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and microelements). After spraying, a thin film forms on the surface of the leaves, which perfectly protects them from fungal spores. It also deters small pests, because they do not like this film.
Ammonia is an excellent fertilizer containing nitrogen, but it also serves as an outstanding insect deterrent. In this mixture ammonia has the function of neutralizing the acidic whey, because an acidic environment is not the most pleasant for plants. With regular application, leaves and flowers enlarge. This solution will ensure you a healthy and abundant harvest.
