Warm summer weather is ideal for wearing white clothing. White dresses, T-shirts, skirts or trousers are a safe bet. Unfortunately, they also come with a risk: white clothing is very prone to getting dirty and developing stains, for example from the drinks and foods we consume. These are also more visible on white clothing and are often harder to remove. Not only for that reason, today we bring you a few simple tips that will help you get rid of these stains easily and quickly.
What’s more, you can do without special chemical stain removers designed for stains, which often are not good for white laundry; our tricks use only simple ingredients that you always have at home. If you’ve stained your favorite white T-shirt with tomato sauce or a few drops of red wine have fallen on your white dress, stay calm and reach for baking powder, lemon, vinegar or aspirin.
Cleaning with baking powder
The main ingredient of baking powder is baking soda, whose amazing cleaning properties have been written about many times. If a stain appears on your white clothing, simply prepare a mixture of one cup of baking powder or baking soda and four liters of warm water. Wait until the baking soda dissolves, then put the stained clothing into the basin and let it soak for approximately fifteen to thirty minutes. Then remove the laundry and rinse it in clean lukewarm water — the stain will be gone.
Cleaning with vinegar and lemon
White T-shirts, blouses and shirts are prone to sweat stains. A great way to easily get rid of these unsightly stains is to add a cup of vinegar and a little freshly squeezed lemon juice to the wash with your regular laundry. After washing there will be no trace of yellow stains and your white shirt or T-shirt will be even whiter than before.
Cleaning with aspirin
In addition to baking soda, vinegar and lemon you can also reach into the medicine cabinet to restore the cleanliness and brightness of your white laundry. Aspirin also handles stains very well. Crush six aspirins into a basin of water and then soak the stained garment in the solution. Let it sit for half an hour and after this time wash the laundry as usual.
