In such a case it is more than understandable that you will have increased worries about your health as well, and especially about the condition of your heart.

With nuts to better health

Recent studies have demonstrated the beneficial effect of a fruit that at first glance seems inconspicuous on human health – daily consumption of a handful of nuts can protect you against the onset and development of heart disease, ensuring constant protection for your heart. However, nuts do not act only as protection against heart attacks and other heart diseases; it turns out they also help increase the flexibility of blood vessels, thereby improving blood flow and the essential supply to vital organs. Nuts also have a positive effect on blood cholesterol levels. All these effects occur already four hours after consuming the nuts or oil from the nuts.

The walnut as king among nuts

Walnuts are a very distinctive type of nut that, if they become a regular and steady part of the diet, combat cardiovascular diseases of all kinds.

Among others, the research into the effects of nuts on the human body was conducted by Dr. Penny Kris Etherton, a professor at Pennsylvania State University, USA, who specializes in nutrition. According to the study’s results, you can significantly reduce the risk of developing heart disease if you use walnut oil four times a week or eat the nuts directly. The study carried out by Dr. Etherton’s team is among the first analyses of the effects of the active compounds contained in walnuts on human health. The analysis, among other things, shows that only 4 hours after ingesting approximately 50 ml of oil from these nuts (which corresponds to about 3 tablespoons) the condition of the vascular system significantly improves.

However, walnuts have a beneficial effect not only on the condition of the cardiovascular system. One could say they are something of a natural cure-all, because for example

  • they help protect the body against various forms of cancer
  • they have anti-inflammatory effects, and
  • they also have a very positive effect on the nervous system.
