If you suffer from psoriasis, you likely have prescription drugs and ointments that probably help, but maybe not as much as you’d like. And you may also be somewhat concerned about their composition, which is mostly chemical. If you want to give your body natural remedies as well, improve your skin condition and alleviate the symptoms of an unpleasant skin disease, try our natural recipes that will bring you relief.
Herbs against unpleasant psoriasis
Before applying the treatment, always first prepare a bath of soap and warm water and warm yourself in it. After bathing, rinse with cold water, dry off with a towel, and your body will be ready for the herbal cure.
To prepare the treatment that acts beneficially against psoriasis, use the following ingredients:
- 10 g ground pine (you can use needles, buds and young shoots)
- 30 g yellow rosemary leaves
- 40 g comfrey leaves, and
- 20 g sloes.
A balm will also bring relief
If you want to combine the above mixture with a balm, which will be appreciated especially by older patients but not only them, add 20 g of the finely chopped herbal mixture to 1 liter of boiling water, cover and simmer for about 5 minutes. Then let the decoction cool to room temperature and strain it into a bottle with a lid. Rinse the affected areas with the decoction and after drying treat them with the balm; for its preparation you will need 4 tablespoons of butter and 4 tablespoons of cream, 4 dl of olive oil (ideally homemade or extra virgin), 10 g of plantain leaves, and 20 g each of the flowers and leaves of lavender, rosemary and elderberry.
Put all the ingredients into a pot and, stirring slowly, cook over low heat for 40 minutes. Strain the balm while still hot and store the cooled balm in a container with a lid.
Tea for severe symptoms of psoriasis
In severe cases of psoriasis, tea can also help; for its preparation you will need 5 g each of thyme, nettle leaves, blackberry leaves and burdock root. Boil all these herbs in 2 liters of water and let the drink stand covered for 30 seconds. The cooled tea should be poured into a bottle with a lid, stored in a cool place and drunk three times a day before and after meals as a substitute for water.
