Fragrant and tender chicken meat, cheese and fresh tomatoes, all scented with spices and baked with cheese, this is the result you will appreciate if you follow our recipe today when preparing lunch for guests.

What ingredients you will need

To prepare you will need

  • of course, above all the meat, which is the basis of this dish – 600 g of chicken cutlets (depending on your taste preferences you can choose breast or thigh cutlets, but always make sure to remove the skin and any crunchy bits)
  • 3 whole hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 150 g of cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • a teaspoon of seasoning – salt, paprika (sweet or hot depending on your preference), pepper (it can of course be mixed/colored) and optionally any other spices you like, and
  • a handful of herbs to taste.

Preparation method

Wash the chicken cutlets and to get rid of excess water pat them dry, preferably with paper towels that absorb well but do not get soggy as easily as ordinary napkins. Then cut the meat into long thin strips. Sprinkle them with a mixture of paprika, pepper, salt and any other spices you are using. Drizzle the meat-and-spice mixture with oil, mix well and store in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. However, if you want all the flavors to meld with the meat as well as possible, prepare the meat the day before.

In a bowl, separately mix the chopped herbs you prepared with slices of tomato and with the onion cut into halves or quarters depending on size. Add the garlic, grated eggs and grated cheese (about 50 g) to the mixture. Add mayonnaise and mix everything thoroughly.

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and pour in the marinated chicken strips. Cover the layer of meat with another layer of vegetables, herbs, garlic, eggs, cheese and mayonnaise. Finally, sprinkle everything with the remaining 100 g of grated cheese. Let the dish bake in an oven preheated to 200 °C. The baking time is approximately 20 minutes.

Suitable side dishes

After baking, remove the dish from the oven, it’s ready and you can serve it and accept the deserved praise. As for a side dish, you can eat this meal on its own or with bread or a toasted baguette. If you want to prepare one of the classic hot sides, the most suitable will be boiled potatoes garnished with chives or parsley.
