Plants that people have placed in the interior are not only a great way to liven up rooms, but also a major benefit for health. Greenery both in the apartment and in the garden needs to be properly cared for so that it thrives and does not wither. Of course regular watering and sometimes fertilizing are important. There are a few very interesting tricks to support the growth and beauty of your plants. What are they?

Practical tips that will revive your plants

Among the very effective means that will lead to better plant growth, we can include:

  • Sugar solution: most plants like sugar, including cacti. You can sweeten your plants’ lives by sprinkling sugar directly on the substrate, or with a sugar solution made from half a cup of water and half a teaspoon of sugar.
  • Castor oil: prepare a mixture for watering the plant from one teaspoon of castor oil and a liter of water. This solution will help flower development.
  • Fertilizer from ash: effective not only in the garden but also at home. Dissolve a tablespoon of wood ash in a liter of water and let it steep for about seven days. It’s good to stir the fertilizer occasionally. Then water the plant once every ten days.
  • Leachate from citrus: steep orange or lemon peels in water for at least a day and then water the plants with the solution.

More effective tricks

You can boost the immunity of houseplants with a solution of a liter of water and one aspirin tablet. Aloe vera is also beneficial for greenery; a diluted solution from it will also help to better growth of houseplants. For one teaspoon of aloe vera juice prepare one and a half liters of clean water.

What water should you use to water houseplants?

The most suitable is to water houseplants with rainwater. If you don’t have it at your disposal, water with tap water but always let it stand. Its temperature should be neither higher nor lower than room temperature. Choose the amount of water according to the type of plant. Each one needs something different. Also avoid overwatering plants, which could lead to subsequent mold formation and your plant could die as a result.
