Pain in the legs and feet can be caused by a number of factors, chiefly incorrect habits related to walking, wearing bad footwear or long-term lack of exercise, or sedentary work. The pain appears both in the upper parts, but mainly in the calf area and the soles of the feet, and is primarily associated with fatigue or movement; however, it is not excluded that it may be the result of internal ailments that negatively affect circulation in the limbs and thereby promote various inflammatory conditions.

Prevention of leg and foot pain

To avoid or reduce leg and foot pain, you should follow several basic rules, which are mainly connected with minimizing the load exerted on the musculoskeletal system. In this case it is not only the demands of increased physical activity associated with professional sports, or occupations that require physical fitness (dance, ballet), but also jobs where constant standing or walking predominates (site security, guiding, etc.). Everyday activities also strain the feet, especially in the case of higher body weight, or unsuitable footwear – primarily high-heeled shoes or incorrect size and shaping. If you often suffer from foot pain, you should consider whether it is possible to eliminate one of the mentioned causes or reduce its impact, i.e. choose comfortable and supportive footwear especially for leisure activities and try to maintain an optimal body weight. However, if the pain is the result of excessive physical strain (this usually concerns an inflammatory condition known as plantar fasciitis affecting mainly professional athletes or ballerinas), you can try the following effective method, which will certainly relieve you.

Procedure to eliminate foot pain caused by excessive strain

Foot pain caused by excessive movement, or by overweight or being burdened with unsuitable footwear, if it develops into an inflammatory condition, can persist for a very long time (often for months). To get rid of it, you can first eliminate the causes. Very effective is then the combination with the following procedure, which will help you gradually eliminate the painful symptoms. The procedure consists of:

  • applying a massage gel or oil to the instep and along the entire length of the soles
  • massaging with a long stainless steel tool that promotes blood circulation
  • taping with a kinesiology tape from the toes around the heel and back, and securing it with a firm adhesive plaster

The feet must remain supported like this for 3–5 days, during which it is possible to move around normally. During the application you should avoid unsuitable footwear and increased physical strain.
