Dr. Foster, who is also a university professor, publishes videos on the internet in which she clearly explains and demonstrates to people how they can help themselves with interesting methods for unpleasant health complications.
Instructions on how to overcome the feeling of dizziness
In one of these videos Dr. Foster addressed those troubled by dizziness. The position the patient assumes on the mat she called „the half somersault“. The procedure is described by the doctor as follows.
Start on the mat on your knees, keep your body perpendicular to the mat and turn your head straight up so that you are looking at the ceiling. Remain in this position for several seconds. Usually you will have the sensation that your head is spinning or that you are turning completely, which means that particles have started to move.
Then tilt your head into the completely opposite position and push your chin slightly so that the head will point a little toward your knees. Keep your head on the mat and turn it to your right elbow to focus on your right ear, and to your left elbow to, conversely, direct your attention to your left ear.
That way you will learn on which side of your body the greater intensity of your problems is concentrated. If you turn your head to the right and feel dizzy, your health problems are concentrated on the right side. You will recognize the better, less burdened side by the fact that the spinning feeling quickly disappears or is not too unpleasant. Stay in this position until the spinning sensation subsides.
An alternative is that you count to 30 and quickly raise your head in the same position, turned at an angle of 45 °, up to a level with your back. Again wait until the spinning sensation passes, which usually takes 15 to 30 seconds. Then, while keeping the angle of the head rotation, sit up straight so that you are again on your knees. The particles should disappear from the air.
Sometimes, however, this requires 4 to 5 repetitions. For safety reasons it is recommended to take at least a 15-minute break between individual repetitions.
