Each woman wants to look attractive, so a whole range of cosmetic products is offered on the market for the fairer sex that are meant to enhance natural color. Thus ladies can choose from various types of make-up, mascaras, moisturizing creams, powders, blushes, eye shadows, or concealers. Cosmetics are, in today’s world, simply a matter of course. However, many of their users often forget one important fact, which is to monitor the product’s expiration.
Harmfulness of expired cosmetics
Many experts believe that expired cosmetics can be very harmful to women. They can cause, for example, various dermatitis, rashes, blisters, swelling, or even eye infections on the skin. Therefore it is advisable to pay attention to expiration dates on beautifying products. It is common for a woman to keep some products in her cosmetic bag for many years and not notice that the use-by date has already passed. Emphasis should also be placed on monitoring the expiration of sunscreens; those that are expired will hardly protect the skin from harmful UV radiation and the skin can easily burn in the sun.
Which symbols should you look for on cosmetics?
Every cosmetic product must be marked with the recommended maximum period of use. You usually find the expiration symbol on the back of the respective cosmetic. It is marked by a small oval container with an open lid. It thus provides information on how long you can use the product after opening it. However, you will not find such a picture on the packaging of products that have a shelf life longer than 30 months. Therefore, rather check all cosmetic products in your supplies and preferably throw expired ones into the trash. You may initially regret it, especially if the product was relatively expensive, but always keep one thing in mind: health is after all the most important. If you were to cause yourself dermatological problems, it would cost you not only time but, in the end, extra money as well.
