Our feet carry us throughout our lives and for their work for us we should repay them with quality footwear, orthotic insoles and also care for their skin.
There are a number of ways to care for the skin on the feet. Among the most common basics for a foot bath are:
- chamomile, which has excellent moisturizing properties and is therefore especially suitable for dry skin
- oak bark, which has excellent astringent effects and a bath in it is recommended especially when you want to speed up the healing of small wounds
- peppermint, which besides its very pleasant scent has a beneficial effect on muscles after fatigue
- Epsom salt, which consists of sulfate and magnesium and a bath with it replenishes the body with the necessary minerals, and
- coconut milk, which can be applied directly to the skin or added to the water as the base of a bath that will hydrate the skin of the feet and improve its elasticity.
However, you may not have known that you can also reach into your kitchen supplies to obtain a healing remedy and give your feet a little time and care.
Onion
Cut the onion and place a piece between the toes, on the spots where fungus troubles you. Position the onion so it has direct contact with the affected area, and let it act for at least an hour, but feel free to leave it longer.
Garlic
In home treatment of unpleasant foot fungus you can, alongside onion, also use garlic, which, like the onion, needs to be cut to increase its healing effect.
Corn
Corn can also be a good helper in the fight against fungus. Unlike garlic and onion, it must be soaked for at least 30 minutes before use.
Chili tincture
If your feet suffer from painful swelling, you can try a tincture of chili peppers. Crush them, mix with a little water and apply carefully to the affected area. To increase the effect, cover the treated area with gauze.
Foot bath from mouthwash
Mouthwash also has antifungal and cleansing effects, and its use is not limited to the oral cavity. To create a bath, simply add 2 to 3 glasses of mouthwash to warm water and give your feet this bath for 30 minutes.
