Aspirin as an over-the-counter medicine belongs to the most well-known and also most widely used medicines in the world and it is not called the „medicine of the century“ for nothing. It is especially because of these effects:

- prevents the formation of dangerous blood clots, and also
- helps in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, certain cancers and complications of diabetes.
History of the world’s best-selling painkiller
Already in ancient Greece a decoction of willow bark was used to reduce fever and to relieve pain, and this knowledge was passed down through the centuries. From the 19th century physicians also began to study the effects of willow bark on human health and gradually succeeded not only in extracting the active substance from the willow itself, but also in obtaining the acid from it and later producing it artificially. Toward the end of the 19th century scientists managed to remove the cause of the undesirable effects of the new pain and fever remedy, and aspirin thus began its triumphant journey.
A well-known German pharmaceutical company came at the very end of the 19th century with a new patent, namely the compressed tablet. And aspirin was the first medicine that patients could take in this form.
Cosmetic effects of aspirin
No one doubts the medicinal effects of aspirin, but few know that it also has remarkable cosmetic effects. With aspirin you can not only give strength to your hair, but it will also help you get rid of troublesome dandruff.
The following procedure is not only very simple, but above all surprisingly effective and also inexpensive.
Take three aspirin tablets, crush them into a powder and mix it with the usual amount of shampoo you use to wash your hair. Rub the mixture of shampoo and medicine into your hair and scalp, leave it on for a while and rinse off.
