Some gifts of nature can help very well too, such as anise, for example.
Properties of anise
Anise originates from Asia and the Mediterranean. It grows up to a height of fifty centimeters. Its seeds are very aromatic and have versatile uses. Above all, they are popular in gastronomy. Some people use anise to flavor preserves of fruit and vegetables. Anise seeds can also be found in some types of baked goods. This fragrant spice is especially popular in China and India, where it is added to most dishes as a standard. And how else can anise be used?
- For making liqueurs and spirits: for example, the Greek ouzo, which is made from anise and herbs, is well known. Anise spirits are also popular in Turkey, where they are called raki.
- For making candies and flavoring various kinds of fish: you will surely remember the pendrek, whose main ingredient is aromatic anise. Fish will also taste excellent when sprinkled with this spice.
- In medicine for preparing teas and decoctions: anise infusions support the treatment of respiratory diseases, soothe the stomach and reduce bloating.
Cosmetic use of anise
As already mentioned, anise has positive effects on the skin, which it can perfectly firm and brighten. To prepare a solution for washing the face you will need a handful of dried anise and a cup of hot water. Simmer the spice in the water for a while, then let it cool, strain it and apply with a cotton pad mainly to the areas where wrinkles form. Repeat the procedure every morning for several days in a row. You will be very surprised by how this exotic spice works. After regular application for a few weeks your skin should be firmer and more youthful.
