Every woman applies makeup in her own way and at an intensity that suits her. The application of make-up and cosmetic products with an accentuating effect should be done so that the natural appearance of the face is preserved while its features are simultaneously highlighted. Professional makeup artists and visagists also approach make-up in this way. The following simple tricks will help you get closer to their art.
How to achieve professional make-up at home
The strategy of professional make-up is to use precise and homogeneous layers and curves of individual products. Visagists or makeup artists usually have different tricks and a steady hand for these tasks; if you want to match them, try using the following tricks.
Eyeliner and shadows
Enhancing and shading the eyelids and lashes is one of the main tools for giving the face a more pronounced look. In this case, focus on several specifics that help achieve very good results. If you want the area around your eyes to be irresistible, you should apply a line on both the upper and lower levels of the eyelids, which will support the impression of thick lashes. You can conveniently apply the line to the upper side of the eyelids using an eyelash curler – simply draw a line with a pencil on the inner side and then stamp it onto the eyelid. Then highlight the lower line with a flesh-colored pencil, which you apply directly to the edge of the eyelid (under the lashes) – this will visually widen the eye and create a more striking impression. Applying lines is fairly challenging, and moreover it should be the same on both sides – if you are not satisfied with the lines, there is no need to start from scratch; you can cover the mistake with concealer and continue working. If you extend the line beyond the eyelid (to achieve a widening effect to the sides and connect the upper and lower lines), you can use a card held at an angle against the eyelid. You can also work this way with eye shadows, which should always be applied only on the eyelid and up to the level of the line.
Lashes and eyebrows
Mascara can also give you a hard time, especially if it tends to flake onto already finished shadows. To prevent this, when applying, place a card or tissue between the lashes and the eyelids and wait a moment for it to dry after application. For eyebrows, a compact appearance should be achieved, which is created with a water-based pencil. If your pencil is too hard, warm it up before drawing the eyebrows (for example over a lighter).
Imperfections around the eyes
The skin around the eyes is especially dehydrated after sleep. If you want to maintain a youthful appearance, use an eye cream at night, applying it to the areas where dark circles form. Always keep the cream in the refrigerator; its effects will be amplified. To cover imperfections, apply concealer to the cheek area, not only on the circles, but blend it into the center of the cheeks – the skin tone will even out and look natural.
Lips
If you want to achieve the impression of fuller lips, apply a second, slightly lighter layer of lipstick to the center and shade it toward the corners. This will make your lips irresistible.
