Pain can bother us in many places. Very often it appears behind the neck, which can be caused, for example, by poor posture, sitting badly, the influence of a low-quality mattress or pillow, or it can appear for no reason at all. Many people in such a case reach for painkillers, which is not an appropriate approach. Both because they contain chemicals and because we do not eliminate the pain, we only feel it less. So what to use instead?

Use a tennis ball

Do you have a tennis ball at home? If not, buy one. Not because you will play tennis, but because you will use it as a massage aid. The ideal way is to lie down, place the ball on the sore spot and move carefully, using the ball to massage the painful area. You will see that the pain will subside very soon. This method is of course also suitable as a prevention. In addition, the ball can easily be used to massage other painful spots.

Move your head

A completely simple exercise can also help with pain behind the neck. One where it will be enough for you to simply move your head. Just stand, place the fingertips on your chin and try to gently push it backward. This will make your neck not protrude so far forward. Hold this position for about five seconds and then relax. Take a few breaths and then repeat. Do everything about ten times, which will exercise the sore area, strengthen the muscles and the pain will stop. Here too it is advisable to repeat the exercise regularly as a suitable prevention.

Stretch your neck

You can do this exercise anywhere and anytime. The principle is very simple. First tilt your head forward as far as possible until your chin touches your chest. Hold this position for ten to twenty seconds. Then slowly return to the starting position, and then continue by tilting your head backward, again as far as possible. Here too hold for ten to twenty seconds and return to the starting position. Take several inhales and exhales and repeat everything. Again preferably ten times in a row, and several times throughout the day.
