It’s certainly an easy solution, but it must be said that many such products don’t have a very pleasant scent, it often doesn’t last, and when it comes to the ingredients, they’re full of chemicals. That’s why it’s better to make an air freshener yourself from things that are easily available and thanks to which you’ll not only remove odors but also perfectly scent your home.
What will you need? Just three things
What exactly will you need to make a homemade air freshener? It certainly helps that there are only 3 specific items. You should have on hand:
- 200 ml of water
- 200 ml of 70% alcohol
- 50 milliliters of fabric softener
Additionally, you’ll of course only need a container to mix the three ingredients together, and a bottle with a spray, thanks to which you’ll be able to apply the scent whenever and wherever you want.
The preparation is simple
How to do it? Simply mix the three ingredients very thoroughly and pour everything into the spray bottle. Shake it before each application as well. If you want more than a freshener — an odor eliminator — it is recommended to add a few dozen milliliters of vinegar, which will better take care of neutralizing specific unpleasant odors.
Application anywhere
At this point you have your homemade air freshener ready and you can start applying it. And to which specific places? Either into the air, or onto various textiles, such as your sofa or armchair, your bed, or even your pet’s bed. The combination of these ingredients will both eliminate unwanted odors and make your house smell wonderful. And how it smells specifically is something you can easily influence yourself, depending on which fabric softener you use. Drugstores today offer a really large variety so don’t be afraid to experiment and try whatever comes to hand.
