If in life we encounter health problems, our first route always leads to a doctor or to a pharmacy and we try to get rid of the illness or regulate it through various pharmaceutical preparations. These often have undesirable side effects that must be taken into account and which can have very unpleasant consequences. For some diseases it is possible to support treatment with alternative remedies as well, which have a much smaller impact on the human organism, however they should not normally replace standard treatment. One of such means is an inconspicuous plant used as an ordinary spice – thyme, which can be consumed in the form of a very tasty and healthy tea.
Beneficial effects of thyme tea on the human body
Thyme acts by its content of beneficial substances on a number of areas of the body, especially on the respiratory tract and blood flow, so to speak, but positive effects have also been recorded in other areas. The most frequently mentioned positive effects of thyme include:
- prevention and alleviation of rheumatoid arthritis
- regulation of blood pressure and blood flow in the cardiovascular system
- stimulation of blood formation, especially erythrocytes (red blood cells)
- soothing of mucous membranes in diseases of the upper respiratory tract (cough, bronchitis)
- treatment of asthma
- prevention and support of treatment for chronic exhaustion
- acts against dizziness
- alleviation of symptoms of multiple sclerosis
How to prepare excellent thyme tea
Preparing the tea is very simple, you need a handful of thyme (fresh or dried), which can be obtained in any grocery store. If you use fresh thyme, it should be thoroughly cleaned before preparation, then it is put into water (1 cup is enough) and left to boil for several minutes. The decoction is then strained and sweetened with honey. You can consume 1 cup of thyme tea daily without major problems and you will definitely feel better. However, do not exceed this daily dose, as you could experience digestive tract problems.
