If you have health problems, you can of course turn to a doctor and request professional help. However, not all complaints are of such a nature that they require immediate treatment or medical intervention. They can include a range of health issues of varying intensity, for example

  • problems maintaining an optimal body weight
  • various painful conditions
  • digestive tract problems, or even
  • dermatological problems.

If you suffer to some degree from the above-mentioned complaints, you can first try a detox cure and, depending on its results, then consider whether you need to seek help from the appropriate specialist.

What is detoxification

Detoxification may at first glance seem like a discovery belonging to modern times, but the opposite is true. Internal and external cleansing of the body has been practiced for centuries by various methods in different parts of the world and is an integral part of, for example, Chinese or Ayurvedic medicine. It acts mainly preventively because it protects the body from disease.

The detoxification process, when the blood is essentially cleansed, begins with giving up the strongest toxins that weaken the organism and prevent the maintenance of overall health. These include especially saturated fats, coffee, cigarettes, alcohol and also refined sugar. At least two days before starting the three-day detox it is also recommended to avoid consuming any dairy products.

As for the body organs that are most involved in cleansing the body, the most important are the liver, but the kidneys, lungs and intestines also play a role.

In the morning start with a drink prepared from water (300 ml) and lemon juice (from 3 lemons). This drink works as a starter for digestive processes and should therefore always precede breakfast. During breakfast it is recommended to drink grapefruit or pineapple juice.

For a mid-morning snack have pure natural carrot juice, which not only aids detoxification but also contains other health-beneficial substances.

Before lunch a glass of tea is recommended, for example peppermint or ginger.

For lunch include natural juices containing as much potassium as possible. You can drink juices from a single type of fruit or vegetable or make a smoothie from several types. Potassium is found especially in parsley, spinach and celery and also in apricots, pears and bananas.

Before bedtime the most suitable detox drink is cranberry juice.

The detox process is not easy on the body, so increased physical exertion is not recommended during this period.
