Corns on the feet are most often caused by tight shoes. Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus. So these are two completely different skin problems. In this article you will learn how to get rid of these nuisances using home remedies.
Corns
Some corns may not be painful at all, while others can be quite troublesome. In any case, it is better to remove them all. The simplest method is to soak the feet in hot water. They should be left in it for several minutes and then the corns should be filed with a pumice stone. This procedure should be repeated twice a week.
Vinegar and onion
Soak onion slices in wine vinegar, apply to the corn and wrap the foot with cling film. Put a sock over the film and leave the wrap on overnight. In the morning, after removing it, use a pumice stone.
Nettle “ointment”
For this variant you will need nettles – stems and leaves – and a little water. The nettles need to be crushed so they release their juice. Then mix it with water and blend in a mixer into a smooth mass. Apply the “ointment” to the corns a few times a day and always let it dry. Instead of nettles, daisies or calendula can also be used.
Chamomile
Chamomile helps not only with corns but also with other health problems, so it should definitely not be missing in any household. Just prepare a decoction from it, for which you will need:
- 1 liter of water
- 4 tablespoons of chamomile flowers
Put the chamomile together with the water into a pot, bring the water to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes. Let the decoction cool a bit and then pour it, together with a larger amount of water, into a large container. Place your feet in the container and wait until the water has completely cooled. The skin will soften and can be easily rubbed off with a pumice stone.
Lemon
Another excellent helper is lemon. Simply drip its juice onto the corn, which contains citric acid. You can also use a slice of lemon, which should be attached to the foot and left on overnight.
Fig juice also works great.
Garlic for warts
The best natural fighter against warts is certainly garlic. Simply slice the garlic, place it on the wart and secure it so that it stays in place all day. At night, replace the garlic with a new piece.
Essential oils
Did you know that some essential oils are antiseptics? You only need to rub them into the wart every night. The most effective are:
- lemon oil
- castor oil
- tea tree oil
Banana peel
Do you like bananas? Use their peels too! Attach a piece of banana peel, inner side against the skin, to the affected area. Repeat this procedure every night for 14 days.
Ginger and potatoes
For this recipe you will need:
- potato
- ginger root
The procedure is absolutely simple. Just grate both ingredients on a fine grater and mix together. Apply this mixture to the warts, tie with a bandage and leave it on overnight. Repeat this procedure until they disappear.
