There are people among us who have a large belly. They ask themselves why? After all, I eat normally, I don’t drink beer, I exercise, in the family no one had it. It really isn’t just about stuffing ourselves several times a day until we burst, or drinking 10 beers every day. For some it is an enlarged stomach, for others relaxed intestines, someone really has a beer belly and in others it manifests as fluid retention in the body.
What can cause a large belly
As unbelievable as it sounds, one of the causes can be long-term bloating. Those who consume spicy and heavily seasoned foods can have an enlarged belly. So watch how much you season your food. To get rid of bloating, try adding plain yogurt, probiotics, more fiber, black coffee, vegetables and other dairy products to your diet. Also be careful how large portions you consume.
Eat until half full, you’ll live a long time
This old proverb already suggests that overeating shortens our life, and I add that it often lies behind our big belly. It also isn’t quite right to eat too little; the body then lacks nutrients, which brings health complications. What else causes us to not be able to see the tips of our shoes over our belly? Here are a few examples.
1. Alcohol
Alcohol, as unlikely as it seems, is very high in calories. Beer and spirits contain a lot of calories. If we don’t have a corresponding energy expenditure, fat is stored in our body, most often in the abdominal area. It also damages our organs, especially the liver. Therefore drink in moderation, or not at all.
2. Drinks with artificial sweeteners
Besides containing large amounts of sugar, they also contain chemical substances that, with long-term consumption, damage our bodies. Sugar is stored as fat, and the chemicals destroy the digestive system and damage the heart and brain. They can be replaced with natural fruit juices and juices without added sugar or preservatives.
3. Other
If your belly is large and you have been suffering from bloating for a long time, the cause may be elsewhere. It could be a disease of your pancreas. This dangerous and insidious disease does not show symptoms for a long time, and most people therefore come to the doctor late. Don’t wait until you feel really bad and rather visit a doctor as soon as possible.
