Heartburn is an unpleasant condition that troubles many people. It is often caused by excessive production of stomach acid at the wrong time or in the wrong amount. This can lead to irritation and damage to the stomach lining, causing discomfort and pain.

There are many causes of excessive stomach acid production

It can be a consequence of irregular eating habits, consuming overly fatty or spicy foods, dehydration, or an overly acidic body. Stress and psychological tension also play a significant role, as do certain illnesses, such as heart problems.

A herbalist from Bukku, known for her knowledge of natural remedies, recommends a special tea blend that reduces excess stomach acid and provides relief from heartburn. This mixture contains herbal ingredients that are known for their healing effects and have been tried by many people who praise its effectiveness.

Tea blend composition:

  • 10 parts St. John’s wort
  • 6 parts yarrow
  • 6 parts plantain
  • 4 parts white pansy
  • 4 parts stinging nettle

(One unit represents the same amount – for example one tablespoon.)

Main effects of the individual herbs:

  • St. John’s wort: Acts as an anti-stress agent and supports digestion. It is the main component of the blend and is very effective for acid reflux.
  • Yarrow: Reduces inflammation, suppresses bloating and relieves cramps. It has antibiotic and healing properties, and supports appetite and digestion.
  • Plantain: Protects irritated mucous membranes and acts anti-inflammatory.
  • White pansy: Strongly reduces stomach acid production.
  • Stinging nettle: Recommended for catarrhal diseases of the stomach, gastric cramps and ulcers, including intestinal ulcers.

Preparation of the tea blend:

  1. Mixing the herbs:

    • Take a large plastic container or a mason jar (not metal) and add the individual herbs in the stated ratio.
    • Fill the container with the herb mixture to three quarters and shake well so that the herbs mix evenly.
    • Store the container in a dark place, ideally wrap it in aluminum foil or place it in an opaque bag.
  2. Preparing the tea:

    • Boil one tablespoon of the mixture in 2 dl of water.
    • Let the tea stand covered for 15 minutes and then strain it.
    • It is recommended to drink 1-3 cups of tea daily, preferably without adding sweeteners.

Warning:

  • This tea should not be consumed by pregnant women, nursing mothers and small children.
  • Due to the St. John’s wort content, the tea is not recommended to be drunk in summer, as it can cause photosensitivity.
