How about experimenting a little, and for breakfast or a snack trying something new and unconventional. Bread with butter and jam, or with cheese or salami, that’s already boring. We’ve prepared a recipe from sunny Croatia for you, and you’ll see that you’ll enjoy it. It’s quite simple, and you have the ingredients at home. So let’s take a look at what it’s about. You’ll need:

For the dough:  

  • 750gr all-purpose flour
  • 500gr sour cream
  • 200gr fat – use vegetable oil or lard
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon sugar,  2 slices of toast bread, 1 packet of baking powder

For the filling:

  • 200gr chicken salami
  • 200gr cheese
  • 100gr ketchup

For brushing:

  • 1 egg

Preparation and method

In a bowl put the sour cream, sugar, salt and eggs. Beat well with a whisk. Then add the melted fat and continue mixing. Finally, add the flour and baking powder in portions so that you get a dough. Let the dough rest in a warm place for 20 minutes. Then divide into 18 rolls. Roll them out on a board into thin rounds.

Final stage of making the rounds

On the rolled-out rounds spread the ketchup and spread it, for example with a spoon. Then take a slice of salami, a slice of cheese and place on the dough. Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg, fold together and press with a fork so the filling doesn’t leak out. Gradually place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush all the pockets with the beaten egg and bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes. Take them out of the oven and you can let them cool, or dig in while still hot. Enjoy your meal.
