If you don’t have breakfast at all or you eat something unhealthy, drive a car and talk on the phone at the same time, or smoke or drink alcohol, these are stressful situations that are difficult for the brain. We strain our brain every day, but in return we don’t give it any rest or proper nutrients.

Fewer computers, more time outside and with the family

Experienced physician Vlad Siurian has been the director of the outpatient Baghdasar-Arseni hospital in Romania for several years. He has already performed more than 23 000 brain surgeries; his youngest patient was only two days old. He says that if you are on the computer or phone all day, you should not expect your brain to always be in the same condition. It needs to be trained with various tasks and activities.

The best solution is to get up early in the morning, do some exercise and then drink two glasses of water. Also open the window in the morning. This should be followed by a healthy and hearty breakfast. Our brain does not rest even during sleep. It maintains the normal function of organs and also takes care of other functions.

As for diet, you should avoid meat that does not have a good effect on the brain. However, it is beneficial for our body, so try low-calorie meat – turkey or fish. You should also be careful with salt. Bitter chocolate or natural cocoa or honey will kick-start the brain.

The brain must be trained, but not overloaded

The active periods during which your brain will work best are, according to the neurologist, 10 am to 12 pm and in the afternoons 4 pm to 6 pm. If possible, smile as much as you can. This gives the brain the signal that everything is fine and it will work better and faster.

Don’t forget to train your memory as well. Even young people already have problems with memory lapses. This can lead to Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore do the following activities:

  • Learn new things
  • Travel a lot and learn about the culture of the country
  • Watch new films and read new books
  • Solve crosswords and tackle various puzzles

Also choose a short walk daily, because physical activity is very important for the brain. Don’t forget about sleep, which should last at least 6 hours. Before sleeping, rather read a book instead of watching TV and avoid modern technologies.
