In cold winter days condensation frequently forms on windows. It is caused by a physical phenomenon resulting from the different temperatures between the outside and the interior. Insufficient ventilation only reinforces this fact. Condensation on windows often ends up in mold. There is, however, one simple trick with whose help you can easily get rid of the droplets on the window glass.
No more fogged windows
The following recipe for treating windows with the aim of preventing their fogging can be applied mainly in the bathroom. It is here that fogged windows are most noticeable, especially after showering or bathing. So next time try treating the windows this way so you don’t have to polish them every time. The trick also works great for treating mirrors, which also like to fog up.
What will you need?
The whole procedure is very simple and above all inexpensive. For treating windows against fogging you will need the following supplies:
- Shaving foam
- A cloth for wiping
Just take the shaving foam, apply a small amount to your fingers and spread it evenly on the window with circular motions. Try to cover as large an area as possible. Wherever the foam reaches, you will prevent fogging and thus treat the glass. Once you finish applying, all that remains is to wipe off the spread foam. For this ideally use a dry, clean cloth. Wiping off the foam takes a bit of work and you may need several clean cloths. On the other hand, you will save yourself the later work associated with wiping away fogged water.
How long after treatment does the anti-fog effect on windows last?
Once you treat the window this way, you can observe for several weeks that it does not fog up. Over time, however, the effect will begin to diminish, so you will notice that it is time for a new application — more shaving foam. An advantage of this method is also the fact that you have shaving foam available at any time and so there is no need to purchase a special chemical product.
