Mold on walls unfortunately does not spare even newer homes. The most critical period is mainly in the winter months, when thermal bridges appear, as a result of which moisture condenses. The chance of mold occurring is also increased by poor and insufficient ventilation, which again means an accumulation of moisture. In the article you will find a trick that will help reduce mold occurrence to a minimum and thus help you achieve a healthier home.

Why pay attention to removing mold?

The presence of mold in the home bodes no good. Besides the aesthetic effect, when unsightly dark spots appear on the walls, the much worse consequence is the adverse impact on human health. Mold produces toxic spores, and long-term inhalation of them is certainly not compatible with a healthy lifestyle. They can also directly trigger allergic reactions and cause a typical musty odor in the house.

What will you need to remove mold?

To remove mold and prevent its development you can use a few fairly common ingredients. Specifically, these are the following:

  • Tea tree oil
  • Salt
  • Vinegar

Tea tree oil works particularly well, and a pleasant bonus is its refreshing, subtle scent. If you notice a moldy spot on the wall, put a little tea tree oil diluted in water into a spray bottle. Then simply spray the affected area and the mold should start to disappear. This method works best on early-stage and small patches of mold. At the same time you can use this preparation preventively to treat selected problem areas.

Another method is treating with ordinary salt. This time you will not put it directly on the wall. Its role is mainly preventive. Place salt in a bowl and put it on a radiator. The salt will absorb excess moisture, so the wall will not be exposed to as much humidity. However, remember to replace it regularly with fresh salt, because its capacity is not infinite.
