Do you know any way to defrost car windows without scraping? We’ll reveal a quick and effective method that will save you a lot of time and effort. Winter may be a beautiful time of year, bringing joy from the snow especially to children, but it also brings many restrictions, such as frost and snow on the roads.

This trick will save you time, even if you don’t keep your car in a garage

Morning departures to kindergarten, school and work can therefore be exhausting, because you will have to get rid of the ice on your car’s windows. If you don’t have a garage or even heated windows, you can cope, for example, with a window mat that ensures your windshield won’t freeze. But we often use the car during the day, so it’s extra work to keep taking it off and putting it back on.

You can of course also use de-icing products for locks or windows. But they also have their disadvantages – they’re not cheap, and if you buy them throughout the winter, it will noticeably increase your costs.

We know a cheaper alternative that you can even find in pharmacies

Isopropanol is an inexpensive way to get rid of frost on the windows all over the car. It is the simplest alcohol that is an alternative to ethanol or methanol and remains neutral. It is mixed with water and you can use it to prevent ice from getting stuck in fuel lines. But its use is broader, it can handle freezes of all kinds. You can buy it in pharmacies, you can also find it at petrol stations, where you will find larger quantities in several liters. You can ask for it in stores that specialize in cars and their accessories.

There is also the option to, in the morning before starting the car, fill a plastic bag at home with warm (not hot) water and then run the bag over the glass. It works great, it saves heaps of time and moreover the water can also serve as a hand warmer. You will no longer need a scraper, which also easily gets lost. Many people use, for example, payment cards instead of it, but they can break with poor handling.
