For some time you haven’t been feeling well and you don’t know why. One day you feel better, the next day you feel awful. Now and then you get a rash, then it looks like a cold or the flu is coming on, then your stomach starts to ache. And so it goes on and on. The cause can be quite simple, but all the more insidious. You may have inflammation in your body. It is the body’s response to imbalance, attack by bacteria, viruses, or psychological stress. Inflammation can manifest in different ways. A joint hurts even though you haven’t done anything heavy, sometimes you have constipation, other times diarrhea. Then small sores appear on your body and disappear after a few days, a tooth starts to hurt, etc. Inflammation appears where the body is most weakened. If you don’t treat it, it can move from an acute stage to a chronic one, and eventually turn into a real health problem. Excessive sugar consumption, a sedentary lifestyle, lack of sleep, and stress can contribute to the development of inflammation. When these factors add up, it can lead to high blood pressure, obesity, chronic back and joint pain. You can avoid all this by following a few basic rules.
Limiting excessive food intake
Almost every one of us knows this. You bring home a bag of chips, a bag of nuts, cookies. You taste a few bites, and instead of stopping, you continue until the bag is empty. Industrially processed foods do not contain nutrients that are beneficial to the body. On the contrary, they are full of empty calories, unhealthy fats, and preservatives. And even though you consume a large amount of food, the body is starving. In an effort not to be without energy, it stores fat reserves for harder times. And because these foods contain substances that are downright harmful to the body, it must exert a lot of effort to eliminate their effects. To do this it uses resources from our body. When it can no longer eliminate these chemicals from the body, the most weakened spot becomes ill. To prevent the disease from spreading, inflammation forms at the weakened site. Through heat and pain the body tries to repair the damaged area. When your knee hurts, the cause can be somewhere completely else.
Weight gain up to obesity
When we consume excessive amounts of sugar, we force the pancreas to produce large amounts of insulin. If we do this over a long period, the pancreas can no longer keep up producing the hormone, and unprocessed sugar is converted into fat. If you do not have sufficient energy expenditure, fat is stored in the body, mostly in the abdominal area and thighs. Diabetes comes hand in hand with this. If you are obese and have diabetes, inflammation in the body is much harder and takes longer to treat. The thing is that fat itself absorbs toxins, and therefore treatment is always longer. It helps a lot if we reduce sugar intake in our diet and move more.
Acne, rashes, poor skin
Stress, psychological strain, and lack of sleep can trigger a defensive mechanism in the body in the form of detoxification. And because the skin is the largest detoxifying organ in the body, inflammation shows up as a rash, acne, oily skin, and not infrequently as food allergies to gluten and eggs. Treat the body to sweetness in the form of fruit, which also contains plenty of fiber, and when we reduce stress and add movement, the body can cleanse itself.
Depression, psychological burden
It is scientifically proven that depression releases a chemical called cytokine in the body, and it affects the brain and nervous functions. This further burdens the body. If we reduce stress, increase physical activity, and limit sugar intake, the body, thanks to its regenerative abilities, can heal itself.
