Freezer, a very important helper in the household. You can freeze seasonal fruit, but also vegetables that you usually don’t have time to consume. Occasionally a problem appears that we fail to notice in time. A big problem occurs when the freezer starts to thaw and then refreeze. This is a big problem that leads to food spoilage, changes in taste, and what’s worst of all, food can go bad and become dangerous for people. Especially when it comes to meat. However, this problem can be determined quite precisely and easily.
Checking the freezer’s function
Pour water into a small bowl and put it in the freezer. Now wait until the water in the bowl freezes. Once the water in the container is frozen, place a coin on the surface and put it back into the freezer. Now everything is done. You can go about your usual activities and the next day, or preferably after 24 hours, check the bowl. After removing it from the freezer the coin should still be on the surface. If it is frozen inside, something is wrong with the freezer. Your freezer is switching off and on again. If the freezer does not work as it should, you should empty all of its contents. Especially the meat mentioned above. When thawed and refrozen, meat can contain large amounts of bacteria that are immobilized in the frozen state, but once you thaw it again they multiply and can cause you considerable intestinal troubles.
