Sausage soup has excellent flavor and is filling

The main ingredients of this Hungarian soup are sausage and potatoes. The potatoes are the basis for the dough for the dumplings cooked in the soup. You can find all the other ingredients important for the correct procedure of the recipe here:

  • 2—3 pieces of cooked potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • flour
  • sausage cut into cubes
  • 1 onion
  • sour cream
  • tarragon

Preparing this soup may seem complicated, but you will have it cooked in a few minutes. Reserve the water in which you cooked the potatoes, as it will be needed for the soup. To the cooked potatoes add an egg and sprinkle in flour so that after kneading a noodle-like dough forms. Add smoked sausage cut into cubes to the dough, a little finely chopped onion and perhaps a bit of fresh parsley.

With the other part of the onion make an onion base, into which you gradually add the water in which you cooked the potatoes. Bring the water to a boil and add the hand-shaped dumplings made from the potato dough into the soup.

Seasoning the sausage soup is very important

The real cherry on top of this soup is definitely its seasoning. Thicken the soup with sour cream and salt to taste. For the proper Hungarian flavor just add a little tarragon and you have the wonderful sausage soup with potato dumplings ready to serve.
