Not only are the gingerbread cookies prepared according to this recipe excellent, but it is also one of the very popular cup recipes, where you don’t have to take out the kitchen scales, but to measure the required amount a cup (šálek) will suffice. The cup used in the preparation of these gingerbread cookies had a volume of 200 ml.
The gingerbread cookies are not only tender and delicious in taste, but also smell lovely, especially of honey and cinnamon, with which this recipe really does not skimp.
Ingredients for preparing the dough
For preparing the dough for the best gingerbread cookies you will need the following ingredients:
- All-purpose flour – 6 cups
- Powdered sugar – 1 cup
- Quality honey – 1 cup
- Baking soda – 1 cup
- Oil – 1 cup
- Cinnamon – 2 cups
- Water – 1 cup
Method of preparation
Take a larger bowl and first mix the oil and water in it. Then add the prescribed amount of powdered sugar and stir until completely dissolved. When the sugar dissolves, add the honey to the mixture and stir again until it is fully incorporated. Now it’s time for the baking soda and cinnamon. When the mixture is well combined, take the all-purpose flour, sift it to aerate and clean it, and gradually fold it slowly into the mixture. Thanks to this the gingerbread cookies will be fluffier.
Let the finished dough rest at room temperature for at least two hours. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and place on it, one by one, balls formed from the prepared and rested dough. Keep in mind that due to the temperature the balls will turn into discs and will therefore need more space. So do not place the dough balls too close to each other, so they don’t merge later in the oven. Bake the gingerbread cookies for 15 minutes.
As you can see, the recipe is really simple. It is suitable even for complete beginners in the kitchen and you can therefore involve small children in its preparation without worry. And if you have older children, they will surely manage it completely on their own in time and will be proud that they prepared an excellent dessert for the family to go with coffee.
