Cleaning and tidying are not a favorite activity or pastime of any of us. It takes too long, nobody notices the results and a few hours later we could be cleaning again. In addition, cleaning products are often expensive, ineffective and contain toxic and dangerous chemicals. So could cleaning and tidying be simplified?
Yes, it can!
You will need only two simple ingredients for that. And they are vinegar and baking soda. You can use them to clean the sink, the fridge, the bathroom, but you can also use them to remove stains from a carpet or when washing to restore the color of your clothes! So how to use them to be as effective as possible?
Use in the kitchen
In the kitchen you can clean the sink, the fridge or even the stove. You can clean the sink by first wetting it. Then sprinkle its surface with baking soda and scrub thoroughly with a brush. Don’t forget to scrub the edges and the area around the seal. Rinse the soda off afterward, however this cleaning is not over. Soak paper towels in vinegar, place them on the sink surface and leave for at least 20 minutes. After this „cure“ your sink will shine like new.
Cleaning the fridge will be much more straightforward. Mix vinegar with water in a 1:1 ratio, add a few teaspoons of baking soda. Then scrub the fridge with this solution, don’t forget the drawers, shelves and doors.
Use in the bathroom
You can use baking soda when washing to restore the bright color of your garments. Simply add 100 g of soda to the laundry detergent, or directly into the drum, and that’s it. When removing stains from a carpet, mix half a cup of vinegar with two tablespoons of baking soda. Apply this solution to the stain and scrub with a brush. After it dries, vacuum the carpet.
From vinegar and soda you can make a universal bathroom cleaner. In a sealable spray bottle mix together:
- 360 g of baking soda
- a cup of liquid soap
- a cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar
This solution removes mold and unpleasant odors and disinfects overall. Always shake well before use.
