Baked potatoes are a traditional dish that we prepare very often. You can also have it in restaurants. You can replace the potatoes, for example, with pasta noodles or elbow macaroni. Everyone has their own method; potatoes are also very versatile — you can bake, braise, fry them or make mashed potatoes, which children especially love.
You can liven up your menu with potatoes baked in a bag
For this recipe you will need:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
First wash and clean the potatoes. Cut large potatoes into quarters. If you have new potatoes, you can cook them with the skin on. Peel the garlic or slice it very thinly. Put the potatoes, garlic, oil and seasonings into a bowl and mix well. Then take a baking bag and put the seasoned potatoes into it.
Place on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180 – 200 degrees for about 40 – 60 minutes. Check the potatoes regularly so they don’t burn. The advantage of baking in a bag is that you won’t dirty the oven with grease and other residues. The meal thus becomes a real pleasure because you won’t have to clean the oven at all.
You can also prepare baked potatoes with sausages or meat
You can put practically anything into the baking bag. It goes great with potatoes, to which you can also add various herbs. You can bake them with good-quality sausages or links; in the bag you can make chicken thighs completely without fat or other types of meat that are popular for roasting.
If you don’t add oil, the dish will be more diet-friendly and you can enjoy it without guilt. Most types of meat contain fat, so fat will run out of them during baking. You can season the dish to your taste. Moreover, you can cook the meat and the side dish at the same time. You can buy baking bags in any household goods store and wherever they sell kitchen components and cooking supplies.
