The curd dessert is a true specialty that more and more people have been making lately. It’s not just homemade baking, but you’ll also find it on menus in restaurants. Many people think that making a curd cake takes a lot of work, but the opposite is true. There’s nothing easier!
This recipe is easy to find on the internet
You won’t need any special ingredients for the curd cake:
- 150 g biscuits
- 75 g soft butter at room temperature
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 and ¼ cups whipping cream
- 100 g cream cheese
Work the biscuits into the soft butter. This will be the base of our cake, which you then place into a cake tin, press down thoroughly and put in the fridge to chill. Meanwhile prepare the cheese topping by working the cream cheese with the powdered sugar. You should obtain a creamy mixture.
You can decorate it with fresh fruit or jam
Add the scraped interior of a vanilla pod to the cream and whip it into a stiff, thick foam. Finally mix the cream-cheese base with the whipped cream and spread it onto the biscuit base, then put it in the fridge for another 2–3 hours. Before serving you can decorate with blueberries, or you can also spread jam on the curd to your taste.
Delight an unexpected visitor with this dessert; its preparation is counted in minutes, and besides it really tastes great. There are many recipes for curd cake. Most of them, however, have to be baked. Some bake it with milk and vanilla sugar, and use a classic crumble for sprinkling.
Curd desserts can be leavened, made from shortcrust or linzer dough. You can also make grated cakes complemented with cocoa. Try also a cheesecake-style variant, where for the base you will need cocoa cookies and butter, and for the filling curd, whipping cream, chocolate and rum to taste. For the topping prepare whipping cream and dark chocolate. The procedure is the same as in the recipe above, only instead of fruit or jam the curd is covered with melted chocolate.
