Kitchen towel – at first glance an ordinary piece of fabric, but one we cannot imagine the kitchen without. It is used for wiping dishes, hands and cleaning up spilled drinks. However, after just a few days of use unsightly stains appear on it that often do not disappear even after washing at a high temperature. We have instructions for you on how to clean towels perfectly so they shine with cleanliness and smell fresh.

Tip for clean towels without stains and bacteria

This proven method will not only remove stubborn stains, but also rid the towels of bacteria and microorganisms that can accumulate in them.

What you will need:

  • sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
  • laundry detergent
  • alcohol
  • hot water
  • two buckets

Step-by-step procedure:

1. Preparing the cleaning bath

Take the first bucket and fill it with enough hot water so that all the towels are submerged. Add to the water:

  • 1 glass of alcohol
  • 2 glasses of laundry detergent
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda

Stir the mixture thoroughly so that all the components dissolve evenly.

2. Soaking the towels

Place the towels into the prepared cleaning bath, fully submerge them and let them sit overnight. It is best to start preparing in the evening because after a few hours the bath should be stirred again and the towels lightly rubbed against each other so that the stains are removed more easily.

3. Morning rinsing and washing

In the morning fill the second bucket with clean water. Move the slightly wrung towels into this water and gently rinse them. Then put them in the washing machine, set the program to 60 °C and have them washed. If you have really stubborn stains, you can repeat the whole process – however, one soak is usually completely sufficient.

Results that will please you

This simple method ensures that your towels will not only be perfectly clean, but also free of all bacteria and odors. Try it and see for yourself how effective cleaning with common household ingredients can be.
