Don’t like having a lot of dirty dishes after cooking? In that case you’ll love the following recipe, where you’ll need only a baking tray and a few fairly basic ingredients. The whole process is very simple and the baking itself doesn’t require any of your assistance. It’s a great idea for lunch or dinner when you don’t want to stand at the stove for long, but still want to enjoy a delicious dish.

Ingredients for the recipe

  • Chicken drumsticks or whole thighs
  • Cabbage
  • A little carrot
  • Broth
  • Chicken seasoning
  • Salt and pepper

And how to prepare this excellent recipe?

First, take out the chicken thighs or drumsticks and season them thoroughly. A good choice is a ready-made chicken seasoning mix, to which you can add a little salt and pepper. Be careful, though, as some mixes already contain salt, so the meat won’t become too salty.

In the second step, get on with preparing the vegetables. Chop fresh white cabbage into small pieces. Also, coarsely grate the cleaned and washed carrot. On the baking tray arrange the cabbage together with the carrot first. On top of this layer place the chicken thighs or drumsticks. Pour stock over the prepared tray. Add enough until the cabbage layer is half submerged in the liquid.

Cover the entire tray with foil or a lid and put it in the oven at 200 degrees. About 40 minutes will be enough. Then remove the foil and let it bake uncovered for roughly 20 to 25 minutes so a tempting crust forms. After this time the meat will be ready and you can take it out. The whole dish can be prepared in smaller or larger quantities depending on how many diners it is for. Potatoes, rice, or a vegetable salad work great as a side, which again depends on taste. A big advantage is the recipe’s time efficiency, as during baking you can do something else and don’t have to worry about stirring on the stove and similar tasks.
