Are a few dishes constantly on repeat in your kitchen and you no longer know how to freshen up your cooking? Try a simple and quick recipe that anyone can manage: from moms to students. If you like wine sausage, you’ll really enjoy this.
When you swap the usual ingredients in classic recipes for completely unusual ones, you might be very pleasantly surprised. Instead of minced meat, you can make the patties from sliced wine sausage. By the way, you’ll commonly encounter it in Italian recipes.
How to do it?
You will need wine sausage, one egg, 4 tablespoons of flour, 200 g of hard grated cheese and 1 tablespoon of sour cream. Finely chop the wine sausage and mix carefully with the other ingredients. For coating you will need unsweetened cornflakes, eggs and flour.
Season the patties to your preferences. Be careful, as wine sausage is usually quite salty on its own. You may therefore not need to add any salt at all. You can also pepper the mixture for these unconventional patties to taste.
Preparation and serving
Form the patties from the prepared mixture, coat them first in flour, then in egg and finally in crushed cornflakes. Heat the pan and pour in oil; you can use rapeseed (canola) or sunflower oil. Fry the patties until golden.
You can try our recipe during the week as a quick after-work meal, but sausage patties can also be served at Sunday lunch. As a side we recommend potatoes with butter, mashed potatoes or simply a piece of good bread.
Patties made from wine sausage are great both hot and cold. Like with meat patties, you can serve them with mustard or a simple salad. How about an excellent coleslaw? At first glance an ordinary dish can thus be transformed into a delicacy that even an experienced housewife wouldn’t be ashamed of.
