Do you crave ice cream on warmer days but don’t have any on hand? Or would you rather make your own so you can be sure it won’t contain any dyes or artificial flavorings? We have a great recipe for wonderful homemade Viennetta ice cream for you. And you’ll only need a few commonly available ingredients. Prepare:
- 3 cartons of whipping cream
- 4.5 dl of milk
- 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar
- 1 bar of good-quality chocolate
- 2 teaspoons of oil
Whip the cream and layer it with the chocolate
The procedure is simple. Put the whipping cream into a bowl, stir in the sugar and slowly add the milk. Using a mixer, beat everything well to create a frothy and airy mixture. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a water bath and add two teaspoons of oil to it. The chocolate can be dark or milk, according to taste. Mix everything well. Prepare a suitable baking dish or a fluted loaf pan (srnčí hřbet).
In the pan, alternately layer thin layers of the whipped mixture and the melted chocolate. When you’ve used up both the chocolate and the whipped cream, you can sprinkle the surface of the ice cream with cocoa. Then place the ice cream in the freezer and let it freeze for several hours. Before serving, cut it into pieces of any desired size.
A slightly more complicated method
If you want to try the more complicated recipe, bring 285 ml of whole milk with 50 g of sugar to a boil and stir in a bar of quality cooking chocolate. You can also add 30 grams of sifted cocoa. Do not cook the mixture further; just stir until the chocolate and cocoa are completely dissolved.
While the mixed mixture cools, whip 150 ml of whipping cream. Carefully fold it into the cooled chocolate cream. Pour the prepared ice cream into a suitable container and put it in the freezer. During the next five hours, stir it several times to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed. Serve the homemade ice cream plain or garnished with whipped cream or melted chocolate.
