Unfortunately, red cabbage has begun to slowly but surely disappear from modern foods imported from overseas. It’s a great shame, because red cabbage is directly packed with nutrients — it’s a superfood that none of us should deny ourselves. Cabbage is filled with vitamins C and K. And if you juice the cabbage and enjoy its delicious juice, you will support weight loss, boost your immunity, reduce inflammation in the body — even chronic ones — and detoxify the body overall.
Forgotten wonder
In the past, cabbage was grown in gardens and included in the diet in various forms — raw, fermented, or as a salad. Fermented and raw cabbage have the greatest health benefits. Fresh cabbage contains vitamins K, C, A and B6. We must not forget the minerals, such as magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and many other nutrients important for the body. The antioxidants contained in cabbage protect the body from free radicals and oxidative stress, and sulfur will support healthy skin, nails, and hair. Vitamin K supports brain function and, with its support, can help reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Lastly, we would like to point out the very low content of calories and fats, which makes cabbage suitable even for reduction diets. The fiber content ensures a feeling of fullness so you won’t feel the need to constantly snack.
Combine it and you’ll fall in love with it
Many people may not like cabbage juice, so it’s good to combine it with other ingredients. You will have to find which ingredient suits you and which will enrich your taste buds. It could be, for example, a sweet apple or carrot, it could also be red beet or anything else.
Recipe for a delicious juice
Red cabbage juice is the simplest and best way to include this vegetable in your daily diet. A big advantage remains that you don’t have to buy expensive ingredients — everything is cheap and easily available. You will need:
- Red cabbage 300 g
- Apple or pear 1 pc
- Basil 1 bunch
- Mint 1 bunch
Thoroughly wash all ingredients, cut them into small pieces and place them in a blender. The ingredients are best blended in a smoothie blender. Blend until a smooth juice forms. Consume the drink twice a day before meals.
