It may seem amusing to you, but an egg with salt can work wonders on the knee. It relieves swelling and eases sharp pain.

It costs nothing to try — try a proven old wives’ remedy

For this alternative remedy you will need only one egg yolk and two tablespoons of salt. Lightly beat the yolk and then sprinkle the salt into it. Mix everything thoroughly and apply to the affected area. Then cover with a cloth made of cotton or another absorbent material. You should secure the cloth with gauze or a cotton scarf. Leave it on for one hour and then wash the area. If necessary, you can leave the egg mixture and the fabric on the affected area longer, but note that after approximately two hours you should change the fabric, wash the knee and apply a new layer. If the swelling and pain last more than three days and you feel that the pain is not subsiding, consult your general practitioner.
