Small sweet desserts of modest size are popular with both children and adults. Such little sweet bite-sized treats disappear over the weekend, and if they’re good, they vanish very quickly. These walnut crescents will work the same way — you’ll love them from the first bite.

For preparing the crescents you will need:

  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 150 g sour cream
  • 20 g butter
  • 250 g flour
  • a pinch of salt

For the delicious filling prepare:

  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 80 g nuts

First prepare the filling

For delicious and tender crescents you will need not only the dough but also a nut filling. In a blender, grind the walnuts into a fine powder, then add 80 grams of sugar dissolved in water. Thoroughly combine the ingredients.

Once the filling is ready, it’s time to make the delicious dough. Add the sour cream to the melted butter and lightly season with salt. Gradually mix the flour and powdered sugar into this mixture, stirring thoroughly so the ingredients come together and form a pliable dough.

From the dough form several equal balls, each weighing about 20 grams. Roll each one out and fill with the nut filling. Then simply roll into a crescent and place them all side by side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes. When the crescents are golden-baked, remove them from the oven, let them cool slightly and transfer them to a serving plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and the treat can be served immediately.
