Don’t know what to make for Sunday afternoon coffee? Try our dessert, a great cake base complemented by a pudding cream. For the top of the cake you can also make a lemon meringue and sprinkle it with coconut.

A dessert that will surprise everyone with its simplicity and taste

For a sweet finish after an ordinary lunch, prepare:

  • 45 dkg flour
  • 20 dkg margarine
  • 15 dkg powdered sugar
  • Baking powder
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream

For the cream you’ll need 2 sachets of pudding powder, vanilla sugar, 6 dl milk, 8 tablespoons sugar and 20 dkg margarine. For the top meringue you’ll need 4 egg whites, 25 dkg powdered sugar and a few drops of lemon juice.

You assemble the dessert from several layers

Make the dough simply by mixing all the ingredients. Then divide it into three parts: put two egg yolks into one, cocoa powder into another, and sour cream into the last one. Bake all three doughs in a standard baking tray.

Prepare the cream from vanilla pudding: add sugar, milk and vanilla sugar to it. Cook it, let it cool, then mix 20 dkg softened margarine into the finished pudding and beat until creamy. Then join the layers into one dessert. Start with the cake base, spread fruit jam on it, add the next base, the cream, another base and finally the meringue.

Make the meringue from egg whites and sugar and, after whipping to a foam, add two drops of lemon juice. Pour it over the entire cake and once the topping hardens, grate dark chocolate over it. Then it’s ready to serve! You can add jam to the cake according to your taste.

Besides the classic lemon topping you can also use jam as the top layer, or spread the top of the dessert with chocolate Nutella. Children especially love that and this treat will definitely please them. It’s great for unexpected guests and you can also take it with you. If you keep it in the refrigerator, it will last many days – unless you eat it right after baking.
