Soap is a product we really use several times a day. It is a product that should protect us from illnesses rather than cause them. How can you tell that you are using the right soap at home that cannot cause the development of cancer in your body? And which soaps should you therefore prefer to buy over others? You will find the answer to all these questions below. Some types of soap contain carcinogenic substances that can be a cause of cancer.
Harmful soaps
Scientists have found that harmful carcinogenic substances are present especially in antibacterial soaps. A large number of these soaps contain the substance triclosan, which significantly affects the growth of cancer-causing cells in the body. This issue was the subject of a scientific study conducted at a biological institute in Korea. The study carried out by Korean scientists confirmed the hypothesis that triclosan, present especially in antibacterial soaps, affects primarily the hormonal system in the body, enabling it to cause mutations in cells. Mutated cells begin to multiply and a problem arises that we call cancer. Some soaps contain the carcinogenic substance octylphenol. If both of these substances are present in the soap, the likelihood of cell mutation is higher.
Products containing these harmful substances
It is not only antibacterial soaps that can contain these dangerous substances. Both of these substances can also be found in other products such as shampoos, liquid soaps, or mouthwashes. Therefore, take care of your health and carefully study the ingredients in the store so that you know exactly what you are bringing home. Do not buy the cheapest product, but it also does not have to be the most expensive; do not focus on money, but choose based on the ingredients so that you primarily protect your health. Whatever cosmetic product you buy, first carefully examine what it contains, only then put it in your cart and pay.
