Stop buying different kinds of overpriced fertilizers. Even though some of them say they are universal, that’s not the case — there will always be plants you cannot pour this fertilizer on, especially specific plants like cranberries or Canadian blueberries. So if you are looking for a fertilizer that will be natural, not overpriced and that can really be used to water the whole garden, rather make your own fertilizer based mainly on yeast. It will cost you only a few crowns and a bit of time you will need to devote to your own production.
Why yeast
Baker’s yeast is a very good substance that makes plants grow beautifully. Baker’s yeast in particular contains a huge amount of various nutrients that all plants need. Well-grown plants will have a lot of strength they can devote to flowering and the growth of tasty healthy fruits or beautiful fragrant flowers. At the same time it is also good to know that yeast is made mainly of fungal microorganisms that like warmth, and therefore it is not good to use them in cold weather. So if you decide to fertilize with natural baker’s yeast, always fertilize only in fine weather.
Preparing fertilizer from yeast
Preparing the fertilizer will take you a bit of time, but you will get the best fertilizer for your plants. Pour 5 liters of hot water into a bucket and dissolve 1 kilogram of yeast in it; if you don’t have it available, you can dissolve the same amount of ordinary bread. Dilute 1 liter of this solution intended for fertilizing with 10 liters of water — it can now be cold, it definitely must not be hot. Then simply water all the plants you grow in the garden with this solution. If you decide to use dry yeast, it is possible, but the ratio of ingredients is a bit different. In this case use 10 grams of yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar per 10 liters of warm water, in which the ingredients dissolve better and sooner.
